Private/Parochial Schools & Child Care Providers

Private/Parochial Schools:

Within Sheridan County there are three private/parochial schools, two K-8,  and one K-6. There is also a local home school association.

Child Care Providers:

Currently (as of September 24, 2007) Sheridan County has 37 licensed child care providers; six are centers with pre-kindergarten curricula, and one facility is specifically for students with special needs beginning at age 3.

Funding sources have been secured and plans are underway to build an early childhood development education facility to be partially staffed by teachers and students from Sheridan College.  This facility will serve as a teaching facility to train certified child care professionals and is anticipated to begin services in January 2009.
